Actress Combats Paparazzi and Publishers Who Shared Photos of Her Babies
Motherhood is hard for anyone. And, while the Hollywood lifestyle can certainly have its advantages, it also has its pitfalls.
“I have no idea what I’m doing! I have a little life in my hands and I’m not equipped to do this,” Lively told Cosmopolitan Australia. “Family is the most important thing in the world to me … my personal life has always been my priority.” And privacy can be very hard to come by when you’re a celebrity parent.
Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds are two of the LA A-listers leading the charge to protect celebrity children from media exposure. Lively recently discussed the challenges of keeping her children out of the spotlight in an interview with Cosmopolitan Australia.
Let’s be clear, however. Lively and Reynolds are already internet sensations for the way they share many hilarious details of parenting their two daughters — Ines, age 1, and James, age 3. Ryan Reynolds’ has even been featured online with a montage of some of his funniest parenting tweets.
But, in the eyes of the actors, information and photos should be on their terms as parents. As recently as Easter, when two reputable publications shared non-authorized images of Ines and James, Lively urged them (through lawyers) to remove the photos. And, for the most part, they complied, the pictures deleted from the majority of social sites.
So Blake, we may not live your glamorous Hollywood lifestyle. But, when it comes to fiercely protecting our kids and feeling as though we are learning as we go? Right there with you, sister.
